Since starting my photography business, I have lived from coast to coast in the US and have had the opportunity to capture so many beautiful families in so many beautiful places.  The beach, the redwoods, the mountains you name it. Recently I have settled here in Longmont, CO, my home state and am enjoying the beautiful mountain views with my husband and 4 children.

While I love the beauty of the art form, the colors I capture, discovering a new location to do sessions at, which always makes for added adventures exploring the great outdoors, my greatest joy I take away from photography is the gift it leaves for the individuals I capture.  If my work can help, in even the slightest way, to help others count their blessings and be reminded of all the good in their life, they can step away from all the negativity in the world for just one moment and appreciate all that they have.  What matters most.  Family.  Loving one another.

Many of my days these days I rock the messy mom bun, my shoulder becomes a napkin for baby and I might not get around to changing it, glasses, no makeup, and house slippers that are the fastest to slip on as I rush my kids out the door. And that is ok. This is my warrior outfit. The battle to cook a healthy meal for my kids and juggle keeping the baby happy and referee the kids and whatever quarrel they get into while we wait on daddy to get home.

Sometimes a girl just has to dress up to remember she is beautiful and so, I spoiled myself with this photoshoot.  Thank you to my talented husband, Matthew for taking these.


I have noticed that I do wear less makeup than I used to.  I think it is important to look in the mirror and feel beautiful just the way you are. But anyway, it is fun and refreshing to put on a glammed up face. Lately my 6 year old wants to help do my makeup.  So we have had all kinds of fun with the lipstick and blush etc. I will admit, she has gotten much better at it than we first started that fun when she was 3.  She thought she was so funny being a little too messy in the cute video we made together.















So when is the last time you put on a fresh face and did something fun like this just for you?  Maybe a gift for your husband or just a reminder that you might need, that you are beautiful.

I once did a shoot for a beautiful young girl in her 20's.  I asked her what the pictures were for.  "I just broke up with my boyfriend and I needed a pick me up"  Don't we all need that once in a while.

It's not often that I chat about me!

Hello there and welcome to Effervescent Media Works. I am Rebecca Mabey, owner and photographer but not without the support of my amazing husband Matthew and our 3 wiggly little's that keep us on our toes.

I love doing photography because it is a blessing.  It is a blessing to me to help others remember theirs and to preserve those happy milestones in life.  I believe it helps strengthen relationships to look back on those special times together.

In my free time I love to bake, create crafts and art projects, plan fun activities and find a cool consignment shop for some unique finds. With my family we enjoy hiking, traveling and exploring together, that's always more fun with company anyway!

When I capture a moment, I am not just clicking a button but composing together all the elements.  Light, color, an atmosphere to set the desired mood and ultimately ending up with an image that is not just beautiful but will evoke emotion when looking at it.

I help make my clients feel beautiful and comfortable. I help them to feel like a natural and get lost in the moment forgetting I am there. After all, it's all about you.

With the kids, I am goofy, so they lighten up and have fun. With babies, I got all the noises to make them smile and feel like I am one of the family, with newborns I've often been called "the baby whisperer".

With brides, I make her look her best with my poses and over all with my work add fluidity into my work that helps my couples look natural.
