Honeymoon Ideas in Colorado Springs

Saturday, August 28, 2021

Whether you are eloping to Colorado Springs and sticking around a bit longer to explore the area, or you are escaping to the mountains after the wedding,  here are great ideas for you to do on your honeymoon!

1. Explore the San Juan Mountains

While this is not a National Park, it is still an amazing stop. And the drive is beautiful.  Roll the windows down and enjoy some mountain air!

2. Great Sand Dunes

It may not be the beach, but nothing quite compares to slipping off your shoes and taking a romantic walk in the soft sand.  Make an adventure of it with sand sledding, four-wheeling and more.

3. Black Canyon of the Gunnison

The unique characteristics of this landscape provide a memorable adventure.

4. Blue Lakes in Breckenridge

These mountain lakes with that perfect blue.

5. Explore Crested Butte

6. Take a trip to Ouray

Drive the 285 Route which is beautiful then stop over at Black Canyon Reservoir Park on your way.  Ouray is the "Switzerland of Colorado."  It has that small-town feel and there are plenty of romantic bed and breakfasts, hiking trails and you can even rent a 4x4 or Polaris to explore it all.

7. Mt. Princeton Hot Springs

Take a hot-dip after a hiking, biking, rafting and more at this romantic stop.

8. Hike up Buena Vista

9. Hike Salida

10. Visit Ouzel Falls

11. Seven Falls

Take a trip to heaven at Seven Falls.

12. Go Kayaking on Lake Dillion

13. Drive the Million Dollar Highway

There is nowhere else like it in Colorado.  Especially in the fall!

14. Visit Vail

Just off 1-70, canoe the piney river from Piney River Ranch where you can rent boats, hike mayflower gulch, dirve and hike shrine pass from vail pass to red cliff,  hike berry picker at vail then take the gondola down at sunset.  Rent bikes and explore!

15. Steamboat Springs

Visit the Strawberry Hot Springs!

16. Ziplining at Royal Gorge

17. Maxwell Falls in Evergreen

A little easier a hike and a lot of fun.

18. Stop for sunset at Table Mountain in Golden

Simply breathtaking views

19. RMNP Bear Lake

For something more leisurely with less hiking, take a nice calming walk around the lake at bear lake.  Shuttles are convenient and there are plenty of places to enjoy the view.  In the fall the color is beautiful with many aspen trees and in the winter you can even go ice-skating if you are up for the adventure.

20. Garden of the Gods

Enjoy the park to yourself if you visit on a weekday sunrise.  This is perhaps one of the most popular places to visit in Colorado.
