Utah Wedding Venues

1. The Woods on Ninth

6775 S 900 E, Midvale, UT 84047

Is a beautiful indoor/ outdoor venue for weddings and parties. And they really know how to party! The host/ owner made for such a fun DJ and really got the guests moving, which is not always an easy task. You never know if it might rain or how hot it is going to be so the indoor seating the lines the beautiful french doors is lovely. The back patio is complete with a stream, tall trees, a bridge, black gazebo and beautiful flowers. It makes for a beautiful area for a ceremony or the reception. Since ceremonies are typically held earlier in the day, the large trees nicely shade the audience as the bride and groom come walking down the isle. Scorching Utah summer sun is not fun to sit and wait under.

In the evening the patio again serves a purpose if your quests should like to get away to a quite or cooler area away from the festivities inside.

The decor is elegant, complete with chandeliers, a grand staircase and big mirrors that open up the rooms even more. The brides, bridesmaids and groomsmen rooms are spacious and comfortable and the upstairs has additional seating as well as couches etc. During the day, it again lets in beautiful light which is lovely for the getting ready pictures.

The Woods on Ninth is also, conveniently located with parking and its location just across the freeway from Fashion Place Mall.

2. Salt Lake Hardware Building

14616 Heritagecrest Way, Riverton, UT 84065

3. Red Butte Gardens

300 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108

I simple love this location! If you have a spot for gardens, stone, waterfalls, and flowers galore, then this just might be the venue you need for your wedding, or bridals. A small fee and reservation is required to shoot here for photography, wedding or otherwise, but it is very worth it. The variety of the grounds and abundance in wildflowers is very impressive. Stone paths weave about the flower beds making it ideal for elegant portraits and romantic walks for you and your quests. Wooden structures with trellises also make a beautiful addition. Benches and swings make a peaceful spot to sit and soak it all in.

The greenhouse makes for a elegant and refreshing Wedding Reception location for a medium to intimate party. And the views that overlook Salt Lake City are breathtaking. The Red Butte Gardens are conveniently located just above The University of Utah in the foothills.

4. Louland Falls

Hwy 80, Salt Lake City, UT 84109

5. Joseph Smith Memorial Building

15 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84150

The majority of the Weddings I have captured have been located at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building located just kiddie corner to the Salt Lake Temple. Especially for the LDS bride getting married on Temple Square, this is an ideal stop of beauty, elegance, convenience and space. Once a upscale hotel, JSMB now plays hosts to events as well as houses The Roof Restaurant and The Garden Cafe that overlook the city. It is ideal for a warm indoor setting for photographs in the winter, whether for Wedding day photography or pre-wedding day bridal photography as it offers princess quality decor complete with elegant chandlers, large windows letting in the beautiful natural light, velvet touches, elegant furniture, marble staircases, gold ornate details on the walls and framing the windows, and even ornate carpets. This historic and beautiful building is also free to take pictures in and is a popular location!

There are many rooms to the building so I will just cover a few for starters:

The Wasatch Room

This room really shines.  With a grand ceiling of glittery gold and chandeliers to add to it, it really is just a breath taking sight.  As sun sets this room looks out onto the vibrant Salt Lake mountains at their warm light.

Empire Room

This elegant room is very grand. Like the inside of a European palace, chandelier sparkle, rich woods cover the walls, and painting add to the beauty. Elegant natural light comes in with a beautiful ground view of the Temple, and a small stage make for a perfect addition to assist with the entertainment whether musical or otherwise.

Bonneville Room

This is a popular room for wedding luncheons and dinner's. And the food is delicious and filling. Beautiful windows line two of the walls letting in elegant light.

Sharon Room

This room is located only a floor or two from the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It over looks the temple. Ornate carpet covers the floor, glass doors decorate two ends to the room. And ornately carved wood patterns the various rims. The room is very long and some of these rooms are also adjustable to suite the size of your party.

A brides room is located just kiddie corner so the bridal party can have comfortable room to get ready.

Jessica and Jared's Ring Ceremony

Jade Room

Allison and Cameron Luncheon This room also overlooks this temple located just one floor up at street level.

With the tops of the trees swaying just outside the window. The light shines through elegant white curtains which also makes a lovely stop if the room is not occupied for bridals. Just outside the room sits a grand black piano should you like to add additional music with that special touch for your luncheon or wedding reception. And just outside those doors, is the Mezzanine where even more beautiful chandeliers sparkle, with golds, velvet, and various other decor fit for a royal view for wedding pictures or otherwise.

Kirtland Room

Here is the last of the rooms we will tour for now at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The Kirtland Room is located on the same floor as the Jade room. It has an adjustable wall for larger parties if needed. It too overlooks the temple. Perfect for luncheons or business conferences etc.

6. McCune Mansion

200 N Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84103

McCune Mansion is beautiful. Its historic elements have such grace. The rich woods, golds and reflective mirrors have a palace like quality and it simply fit for the reception of that 'royal' bride and groom.

It is perfect for moderate to intimate parties and for most any occasion. McCune Mansion is also a beautiful stop for bridal photography with reservation and a small fee.

7. Le Jardin

1910 E 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092

I simply love this wedding venue! Greenhouses are so lovely and to have a outdoor/ indoor location that is comfortable for your guests during the hot and cold seasons, but also provides a setting of color and elegance withe the indoor running fountains, lights that hang from the ceiling creating a romantic elegance for the first dances, and a beautiful flowers everywhere.

Outside in the garden there is a gazebo, rose covered archways, trelleses, swings and a lawn large enough for several more tables to allow your guests to admire the glowing sunset on the purple mountains.

8. Magnolia Grove Wedding and Reception Center

1117 W South Jordan Pkwy, South Jordan, UT 84095

The Magnolia Grove Reception Center in Draper Utah is a spacious, elegant and just a beautiful wedding venue. Everything about itfeels clean, well lit, and has that danty elegance complete with the laces, flower patterns and furniture, mirrors, windows draped with a sheer white curtains etc. A grand staircase descends down into the carpeted guest area which can also make for a beautiful entrance for an indoor ring ceremony.

The ballroom floor is surrounded by all the tables and just over in the corner a table for the cake sits next to a large mirror.

Outside there is a rock waterfall, a gazebo, flowers, rock fixtures, a spacious lawn, and a walkway for guests to stroll about. A stone patio rest just outside too with tables for those who might want to take a break from all the excitement inside and enjoy the garden.

Out front there is a beautiful fountain surrounded by flowers, and a wrap around driveway making for a elegant getaway at the end of the evening.

The building itself has a sort of colonial feel to it, with a traditional American grandness.

9. Thanksgiving Point

3003 N Thanksgiving Way, Lehi, UT 84043

Where do I start with Thanksgiving Point! These gardens have just so much to offer for all kinds of events and activities large and small. The Thanksgiving Point Gardens Tulip festival is highly recommended for a weekend trip with the family and is also highly recommended for bridal photography! I do however recommend shooting those during the week as it is a little less crazy! But despite the number of people who come to admire the flowers each year at these gardens, there are so many oppurtunities for pictures because there is so much variety and beauty in the well kept gardens. They are open from spring until late fall and no matter the time of year it is just georeous. The variation in colors, blossoming trees, rows of tulips, wooden rose covered archways, elegant brick stone pathways etc. The gardens are so large that a golf cart is necessary to cover the grounds for pictures etc.

Since there are various areas I will talk about a few:

The Tulip Rows. For pictures this is lovely, because you can make a bride or child look as though they are really sitting among the flowers without actually hurting them or getting dirty as there is grass in between.

The stream area with wooden bridges and rock beds. This area is so picturesque! The stream weaves about with little willow trees, blossomed trees, tulips, rocks bushes etc line it just so. The color is beautiful to the eyes and the grand addition of the Utah County mountains are lovely.

The Roman Coloums. Just one the many ways to put a little of a unique traditional european elegance into your photos even here in Utah. The columns sit atop a hill that is surrounded by a descending staircase and pathway to get up to it. Come sunset, it is a stunning place to be as you can see out over the gardens and mountains with a golden brushed on light.

The Rose Gardens. An elegant wooden arched walkway curved a great distance halfway around the maze of rosebushes. The pretty pinks, yellows and whites just glisten. Especially after a spring shower.

The Italian Fountains. This is as close to Italy as you can possibly get in good ol Utah! These stone fountains pour out their water into the next below making a beautiful display. Yellow tulips line about as well as pink! Gravel steps walk up each side of it and clean cut bushes along each side. Benches sit about for a nice stop.

The Secret Garden.

This part of the Thanksgiving Point Gardens is trully a hidden treasure. A vine covered tunnel is the only way into it. You must pass through a rounded antique wooden door to access the enclosed beauty. Brick archways arch over the elegant flowers, roses and vines crawl up them toward the sunlight that arches over its high walls. Three little coves make for the perfect stop for pictures or a event such as a wedding dinner or luncheon. Fountains burst archways of water across too.

And last but not least, another favorite stop is that of the Waterfalls. The Thanksgiving Point Garden waterfalls are the largest man made waterfalls in Utah and they are lovely. And when we say waterfalls, we are talking big! The three 40+ ft waterfalls fall into a pond next to the grass amphitheater hill. Concerts take place here but makes for beautiful view too!

Thanksgiving Point has such beauty and can make for another beautiful stop for your wedding reception, wedding rehearsal dinner or family outing. Not only will the event be surrounded by Mother Natures elegance and grace, but the journey to get to your outdoor event will be a peaceful one for your guests as well.

For the indoor wedding, Thanksgiving Point also has a large event room located at the top of the hill that has a stunning view looking out onto the garden and horizon enough to take any ones breath away come sunset. And should your guests like to, they can take a stroll about.

10. Eldredge Manor

564 W 400 N, Bountiful, UT 84010

Eldredge Manor is another historic and elegant venue we are blessed to have here in Bountiful Utah. With a bit of a Pioneer, antique feel to it, the Manor is filled with lace curtains, wooden floors, flower carpets, ornate carved framed decor among the windows etc. Upstairs the brides and grooms rooms sit. The brides rooms is decorated with antique furniture, mirrors and a sparkling chandelier adds to it all.

Downstairs there are three main rooms. The first is the entry area, that is often used for the line to greet your guests, let them sign in etc. The second is the dining area. A fireplace for the winter. A large tv above it to place slideshows or videos of the bride and groom. French doors line the room letting in plenty of beautiful light. The floor is a new clean wood. The third room is a ballroom. A few additional tables and several chairs sit about for those wallflowers that would rather watch then dance. And there is plenty of room for the traditional wedding activities.

Outside, steps go out to the outdoor patio and gardens. Above the patio are beautiful lights strung to add a soft and gentle ambience to the reception. At the end of the patio is a wooden archway/gazebo for the ceremony or receiving line.

The garden wraps around the Manor and a small stream babbles a peaceful background. A small bridge, a white traditional gazebo surrounded by flowers, and a fountain are a few of the other additions to the gardens.

Overall Eldredge Manor is a lovely stop for your wedding ceremony and/or reception. It is located just off the freeway making for a very conveinant find for your guests and is surrounded by trees.

11. LaCaille

9565 S Wasatch Blvd, Sandy, UT 84092

La Caille is one of the finest venues available in Utah. Its French style is of the utmost quality and grace. It is a restaurant, venue and gardens all in one and hosts many events.

In the spring and summer, peacocks meander the flower covered gardens. A stream and coral colored bridge paint the grounds. Stone steps come up the side of the building.

In the winter, the lights grace the snow and ice that uniqully form in the front driveway.

A beautiful large metal gate invites you down the tree lined lane. A fountain greets you an the end of the curved stone driveway.

Part of the Chateau is a greenhouse, filled with emmense ornate beauty. It looks out onto the gardens.

A winding staircase take you upstairs to the award winning resturant itself.

12. Manderley Reception Center

1675 North Freedom Boulevard #10G

Manderley Reception Center is a wedding and event center located conviently right in Provo. Some of my favorite things about this venue are the chandiliers, and the beautiful little ballroom for a medium sized party. Not eveyone cares to dance at a wedding, so a large one is not always nessisary. White sheer curtains complete with lights that glimmer through them make for a perfect addition for that first dance.

Located just outside of the front doors, there is a beautiful fountain to greet you. A wooden arch with stranded lights decorate the entrance. Inside there is a window lined hallway perfect for the line of guests and for family pictures before the event.

13. Noah's

322 W 11000 S South Jordan, UT

Noah's is a spacious contemporary wedding venue and they have several locations in Utah and beyond. If you are more of a modern bride, then this just might be the stop for you! There are a wide variety of rooms for just about any kind of event.

Here are some of my favorite things about Noah's event center:

The space. The weddings I have shot here have needed the additional room for the wedding reception to really be a party. A lot of dancing, cabanna lines, line dancing etc.

The adjustable wood trellaces that are available with some of the large ballrooms are perfect for hanging fabric, lights or whatever you like off of to further customize your decor.

The light. The rooms are large but so are all the windows.

The clean and simple look. No trying to match with carpets for your wedding decor. The clean and simple rich wood floors and white walls make for a flexible match.

The Brides and Grooms room... Space! No squishing past each other to reach makeup or a dress or shoes. No basement lighting either. There are plenty of mirrors, hanging space and storage. Also the grooms rooms have couches, a pool table and tv for that extra waiting time.

Both Noah's locations located here in Utah have side gardens enclosed by gates and a wall for the use of an outdoor ceremony and immediate accompanying dinner or luncheon inside.

644 N 2000 W Pleasant Grove, UT

14. White Willow Reception Center

342 N 500 W, Provo, UT 84601

This converted historic house makes for a beautiful vintage stop for a Provo or Orem wedding. I just love the ornately wood carved additions to the frames of the house. The dark rich woods, lace, flower carpets, furniture and preset decor make for easy decorating and have a Victorian feel to it. The garden itself is so beautiful. The various additions, such as a wooden arch, a Tuscan stucco arch, a fish pond, various sculptures, and of course flowers, make for a peaceful atmosphere for the event itself, or meandering area for your guests.

I also highly recommend this venue for wedding luncheons or breakfasts! The light and fluffy cake like omelette they serve is delicious! And the food altogether is refreshing and filling.

After the party concludes, the front steps, and walk lined with bushes make for a fun sparkler getaway which is how most brides rush away with their groom for the night.

15. Conrad Ranch Reception Center

5591 E South Fork Road Provo Canyon, UT

This venue is located conveniently up Provo Canyon, with mountain views, a beautiful moss covered pond and bridge and a white gazebo.

16. Alpine Arts Center

450 Alpine Hwy, Alpine, UT 84004

The Alpine Arts Center located in Alpine, UT, is a spacious venue perfect for a very large wedding party. Outside there is a garden with a wooden arbour for an outdoor ceremony or receiving line if you are having an outdoor wedding reception. A small creek and bridge add to the ambiance and sculptures decorate the grounds. Inside there is a large dance floor and attached is a small room of artwork with couches for your guests to take a break if desired.

17. The Lion House

63 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84150

The Lion House is another lovely wedding venue located right in down town Salt Lake City but with the quaint country like cottage feel to it with laces and woods inside and the back patio area under the tall shaded trees outside. I love the little white french chairs that accompany the tables in the courtyard. The Lion House is also located only a 2 minute walk away from Temple Square. And there food is quite legendary here is Utah if you are looking for a luncheon location or wedding dinner. I myself has my luncheon at the Lion house! It was so nice to have our venue for it be close by once we were done shooting pictures and had worked up an appetite! Mmmm, I am just thinking of how addicting their rolls are and refreshing the garden salad is etc.

Katie and Jed's Wedding was here and it was lovely. Being a hot day, it was nice to have the shade of the house arch over just enough to keep us all cool while still enjoying the beauty of outside. I also like that there are umbrellas and outdoor heaters provided for additional comfort as needed with the hot summer sun or fall crisp air.

For pictures there is the convenience and wonderful variety just a few steps down the stairs to flowery areas in front of the Salt Lake Temple.

126 E 400 S, Springville, UT 84663

The assortment of beautiful art pieces makes for a unique and different activity to keep your guests busy as they wait in line or simply meander the various halls during the reception. There is a large room for plenty of dancing and activities and preset tables for devouring goodies to take place. There are some more permanent features to the facility, such as the industrial fountain made of unique metal parts.

If you are not wanting or planning to spend a lot and save money on decor, this would be an ideal location as the art is a elegant decor of itself and creates its own classy ambiance.

The outside of the building exhibits a warm look with its ivory stucco and various south west attributes. Part of the sculpture garden is covered with vine entwined trellises and wooden arches. Stone bricks line the ground.

If you are getting married in Utah County, this would be an ideal venue for your wedding and reception.
